I regularly hear stories of patients in the Bunbury Regional Hospital being shuffled around from bed to bed and ward to ward as the hospital tries to cope with growing demand. Elderly women and men are regularly placed in mixed wards.
It is not good enough. The people of Bunbury and the South West deserve a hospital that is adequately resourced to meet their needs and ensure they are comfortable during their recovery from illness or surgery.
In 2015/16 the general wards at the Bunbury Regional Hospital were at more than 97% capacity. We need more beds and the resources to service extra beds. Without extra resources, Bunbury Regional Hospital will not be able to cope with our growing population.
I am standing up for health care in Bunbury. Stand with me by signing my petition to call for more beds and resources for the Bunbury Regional Hospital.
